It starts with the eyes, then come ears

They have a blind spot, which makes sense, after all these years.
It happened one Saturday morning,

Going through an old photo album
I thought,
Where are they,
the people who were once visible,
You could touch them.
You saw them all over the place.
Finished reading this book around a month ago, it was hard to put it down. And it was equally hard to write a review without putting too much details of the story, which would inadvertently creep in. Mostly because it grasped me emotionally, and only after a month or so, this is my third attempt to write a short review.
Story set in 1970s Kabul, narrator Amir comes from a rich family, he lives with his father (Baba) in his house.

खिड़कियों से छन के आती धूप से जागा हुआ
*ख़्वाबीदा आँखों को अपनी मैं मसलता रह गया
उठ के महफ़िल से मेरी सब यार अपने घर गए
एक अकेला मैं दिये के साथ जलता रह गया
क्यों *किताब-ए-माज़ी को ले कर मैं बारिश में रहा
*हर्फ़ सारे मिट गए बस एक धुँधलका रह गया
Started my journey of reading non-fiction and autobiographical books with this gem. Finished reading it today, and coincidentally it’s author’s birthday.
The author is a person that every Indian is well aware of, as the former President of India, and as the “missile man of India”. After reading this book I came to a realisation that there words fall short to describe his contribution to our country in the field of defense and space science.
पढ़ चुका हूँ हिंदी, अंग्रेजी और गणित
पढ़ा है भौतिकी, भूगोल और इतिहास
लेकिन वैसे ही, जैसे दीमक पढ़ते हैं
गोया कि, मुझे मालूम है भौतिकी के नियम
स्थूल और सुक्ष्म वस्तुओं के लिए भिन्न हैं
पर यह नहीं जानता कि भौतिकी के नियम
प्रेम पर भी लागू होते हैं
जो इन दोनों से परे है
पढ़े हैं भाषा और व्याकरण के नियम
पर यह नहीं समझ पाया
कि दुलार और फटकार में याचक की भाषा
